People Can’t Support You If They Don’t Know How

I know talking about your business can feel awkward. Many of my clients say they feel like they annoy people or assume “people already know what I do.."
But here’s the truth: people can’t support you if they don’t know how.
We love to believe that our friends, followers, and community know exactly what we offer, how to work with us, or when we’re taking on clients. But most of the time? They don’t. Not because they don’t care, but because they’re busy, distracted, and not reading your mind.
And if they don’t know what you offer…
They can’t book you.
They can’t refer you.
They can’t give you their money.
Talking About Your Business Isn’t “Salesy”
You’re not out here yelling “BUY FROM ME!!!” in all caps every day. There’s someone out there right now looking for exactly what you do. If you keep waiting for the perfect moment, or assuming people already know what you offer, you’re missing the opportunity to serve and grow. You only have to be 1-2 steps ahead of someone to help them!
You’re simply letting people know:
Here’s how I help
Here’s what I’m excited about
Here’s how you can work with me
That’s not salesy. That’s communication.
What Should You Be Sharing?
You don’t have to post every detail of your business every single day. But if you’re looking for places to start, try this:
Your current offers or services
Who you love working with
What lights you up about your work
Behind-the-scenes of your process
Success stories or client transformations
Reminders that you’re taking on new clients or launching something new
Your personality - what can potential clients expect when working with you?
Give People a Chance to Cheer You On
The people in your world want to support you, but they need direction. They need reminders.
Because you never know who’s watching… and ready to invest.
