Breaking down "Content Creation"

If you’ve ever thought: “They tell me I need 'engaging' content, but I don’t even know the difference between it all,” you’re not alone.
“Content creation” has become one of those phrases that gets thrown around but not many people break down what it actually consists of... so let’s do it.

The Big Picture
"Content creation" is the umbrella. Under it live three main players:
"Graphics" aka graphic design
Photography
Reels + short-form video
Each one has a job, and with the right strategy, they make your brand feel clear, consistent, and human. Regardless of the type of content you post, it doesn't need to go "viral" to bring in money or build the trust of a potential customer.
Photography:
As a brand photographer myself, this is where I see a big shift for people. Most can notice when a brand goes from posting images with bad lighting and no direction to high-quality images that really showcase the brand in its best light.
Photos do a LOT of heavy lifting:
They are great for re-purposing
They elevate your brand
They showcase specific strategies/products/people
They make your business look legit
Good brand photos give you:
Website images
Instagram posts
Story content
Profile refreshes
Marketing visuals you can reuse over and over
You don't need a photoshoot every month. One solid shoot can carry your content way longer than you think (especially when you know how to use it).

Graphic Design:
When you create graphics with intention, someone scrolling can instantly recognize your brand, even before reading the caption.
This includes things like:
Quote graphics
Educational posts
Announcements
Event promos
Branded templates
As someone with a degree in graphic design, something I often remind my clients is that less is more. Consistent fonts, colors, and layout bring less chaos and more clarity. You don't need to re-invent the wheel for each graphic.
Reels & Video:
Video is where you can really showcase your personality.
Reels help your audience:
Hear your voice
Feel your energy
Understand what you do quickly
Trust you before ever messaging you
And sometimes get a good laugh
Some of the most effective content is:
Behind-the-scenes
Educational but casual
Story-driven
Low-pressure and relatable
Funny and light-hearted
Reels typically are shot vertically and can vary between voice-overs, interviews, b-roll with background music, and funny trending audios. I suggest keeping a variety in rotation.
Post with intention
Photography, graphics, and reels are powerful on their own, but without a plan, they’re just content floating around the internet. Strategy is what connects the dots. It’s how your visuals tell a consistent story, speak to the right people, and actually lead someone from “that's cool” to “I trust them and want to support them.” A little intention behind what you post, when you post it, and why you’re posting it turns content into connection, and connection is what converts followers into real humans who want to work with you.
How I (personally) Offer Content Creation
This is where I’m a little different than a typical social media manager. I'm what you would call a one-stop-shop with social media. I know everyone is on a different journey, and I like to meet you where you're at on yours.
I offer a full social media takeover, which can include:
Strategy + planning
Content Shoots that include photography & video
Graphics
Reel Editing + trending audio tracking
Posting and managing everything for you
Answering DMs
Monthly catch-up meeting
And more
Other times, clients just want:
A bulk content shoot
Updated brand photos
A library of reels to pull from
Content created without handing over their accounts
A 1:1 session to go over the basics
All are valid and depend on your season, capacity, and goals!
Content that connects
Content that feels aligned.
Content that builds trust.
Content that makes your brand recognizable and relatable.
